Produced by the S.F. Hess & Company of Rochester NY in 1888, this unnumbered set of 46 players is comprised entirely of delivery boys from the newspapers of 8 cities who played on local ball teams.

These “Newsball League” cards were packaged inside 10 count slide & shell boxes of Creole Cigarettes that are less ornate in appearance than the Creole cigarette boxes used for the N321 distribution. These “plain-looking” Creole cigarette boxes are extremely scarce.
